Early entrepreneurship - Dream, don't sleep.

You have an idea to start your business? Go for it.

It is never early to become an entrepreneur. Especially in today's era when advertisement and earning is very, very handy. Neither should the idea be discouraged by our supervisors.
  • A very important fact that is unfortunately being encouragingly neglected is that entrepreneurship DOESN'T has to be brought about because of the inability to find traditional employment.
  • Entrepreneurship doesn't even always have to run in the family. In fact, 51.9% of greatly successful entrepreneurs of today reveal that they themselves were the first ones to launch business in the family.

Second Proposal - The Anti-suicidal Stand

The Anti-suicidal Stand

One million people commit suicide every year!* I plan on reducing it to ZERO.

As the name suggests, my proposal focuses on ensuring that the depressed don’t miss out seeing the brighter side of struggling and the hardships life offers. Struggles never come unaccompanied. It brings along faith, determination and the sweet voice of hope that whispers in our ears that “success is near”. Sadly in today’s age the strugglers rather than focusing on the brighter side, get along with the pessimism of not having to achieve anything.  Unfortunately, they miss the word “yet”. Every dark tunnel has a light in the end.

And, to spread this message is exactly what I’d try to achieve.

Major points

My proposal follows the following major points:
  •          As per current statistics, the ratio of suicide among the youngsters is higher than the rate of suicide attempts in the older aged people. And this is the reason my major emphasis will be on preventing the conflicting emotions among the youngsters i.e. majorly university and College students.
  •          College/university based interventions will be held among various Colleges and universities to increase the anti-suicidal stand awareness.
  •          Complete and proper counselling sessions will be arranged on monthly or yearly bases.
  •          We will ensure that the students are delivered “pre-emptive interventions rather than reactive.
  •          Not only will the students become aware of the anti-suicidal stand but the parents will also receive education on how to keep a balance between entertainment and the studious stress. Parents will also be encouraged to keep an eye on their children’s daily activities and their community to ensure they are not up-brought in a negative environment.
  •          We will continue spreading the word through pamphlets, digital and social media.

The much needed cause

It is an alarming situation that not only our country suffers immensely, but depression is spread all around the world. It is no longer just an emotion or a temporary sentiment of sadness.

It’s an illness.

And, my proposal’s all effort is in ensuring that the roots of depression are nipped in the bud. Even if my lectures and awareness change the mind and bring the light of hope in even a single heart, I’d consider it an achievement for a lifetime. Although certainly, I plan on doing a lot more than changing just one entity.

First proposal - The children ward

Active Citizen Program – British Council

A proposal to the suite

My proposal on part of the Active Citizen Program centers on adding a touch of liveliness into the sad air of our hospitals. The fact is unknown to none, while hospitals are the places of salvage and new beginnings, they are also the most tragic realities of life and the memories for not some, but many people.

Sadly an average Joe of a society if not doctor, is completely helpless in the hospitals today. Where, I stand against the stereotype. He actually CAN do something little, if not much for the sick and the saddened children admitted in the hospitals. Being fortunate enough to become a part of the Active Citizen program by British Council, I have the opportunity to introduce this idea. (And without any hesitation, I would love to become a part of the crew once my idea gets approved by the hospital’s management)

It follows the following major points.

1. A crew following a team of 3-4 people would visit the children wards of the hospitals.

2. They will carry along and offer giveaways and little toys for each admitted child in the ward.

3. Balloons will be tied to each bed and the crew will spend some time with each child and cheer them up by  singing happy rhymes for them, smiling and very nicely.

4. The crew will also console with the parents of the children and offer them full support.

5. The crew will not take more than 10 minutes to each bed.

My proposal may not be massive, it also may not cause huge changes. But it can bring joy to someone who is in the need of it the most. The last time I visited a children ward of a private hospital in Lahore, I spent a night there and it killed me to see little children crying and mourning over their illness, topping it the sad air only mad those children cry even harder. Only one or two children had toys and dolls while the rest of them could only long over it. It felt like their eyes were calling for help. An escape from the troubles and their illness for just a short time if not for long. Sadly they couldn’t even have that. That’s when I wanted to do something for those children more than anything in the world.
